‘Lupin The 3rd’ : Italian Game’ US Premiere at Anime Expo 2017 and launch of official English website

We are so excited to announce that the new Lupin the 3rd film is coming to Anime Expo 2017! The film/tv special is titles Lupin III: Italian Games and revolves around the series’ title character investigating the kidnapping his estranged, millionaire wife Rebecca. WHen he arrives in Italy, he is confronted by the masked Count of Cagliostro. Name sound familiar, doesn’t it? One of the first Lupin III films was in fact titled Castle of Caliogstro. The original theatrical release premiered in 1979 and was co-written by anime godfather Hayo Miyazaki, marking his feature film debut.

Los Angeles, CA – June 21, 2017. TMS Entertainment USA announces the US premiere of Lupin The 3 rd : Italian Game that will screen at the Anime Expo on July 3 rd . This is the newest Lupin TV Special and has never been seen before in the US. Simultaneously, the company is also launching the Lupin official website in English (www.lupin-3rd.net/en/) as part of Lupin’s 50 th Anniversary events. In The Italian Game, Lupin investigates the kidnapping of his estranged wife, Italian millionaire and celebrity, Rebecca Rosselini, who still carries this name. But when Lupin arrives in Italy to rescue her, he finds himself drawn into a game with an unknown enemy when he is issued a challenge by the Masked Count: find the inheritance of the Count of Cagliostro. To complicate matters, Lupin’s nemesis Inspector Zenigata arrives in Italy to arrest Lupin, as well as M16 Agent Nyx who is after the Masked Count as well. With all the players in place, the Italian Game begins…but who will be the winner? Lupin The 3 rd is one of the most recognized animated TV series in Japanese history. It debuted as Manga comic in 1967 and started broadcasting on television in 1971. There are five TV series, totaling 267 episodes, including this newest LUPIN THE 3 rd Part 4 (26 x 30-minute episodes), English dubbed version on Adult Swim and English subtitled version on Crunchyroll. There are 26 feature length TV specials, and several theatrical films. The most recent film in theaters in Japan, “GOEMON ISHIKAWA” (2017), focuses on Goemon Ishikawa XIII, a master swordsman whose sword can cut anything.
