As physical conventions have been cancelled for the time being due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Funimation like other event organizers has decided to create its own online event for its fans. FunimationCon 2020 will be held July 3rd and 4th and will have several panels and interactive programs for viewers to check out.

Fans of My Hero Academia can look forward to “My Hero Academia Game Show” where host Lauren Moore will run a fun panel with voice actors of fan favorite characters including Mahoro of the second MHA movie. There will also be a Q&A panel hosted by Jacki Jing with several MHA cast members. For those who enjoy video games, FunimationCon will have a tournament of My Hero One’s Justice 2. Host and professional wrestler Kenny Omega joins a group of MHA voice actors and recreate well-known battles in the latest game and also see how they fare against each other.

“Human Lost: Revisit Film with the Japanese Voices and Producers” will bring the creative team of the 2019 CG anime film to fans and discuss their experience working on “Human Lost” while also hearing viewers’ opinions. Lead voice actors Mamoru Miyano (Yozo Oba) and Kana Hanazawa (Yoshiko Hiiragi ) will also be participating in this event.

Dragon Ball fans will not want to miss the exclusive interview of legendary voice actress Masako Nozawa. “Toei Animation Presents Dragon Ball Super Interview Featuring Voice Actress Masako Nozawa” will be a screening of the recording with English subtitles.

Like other conventions, Funimationcon will be bringing their own anime screenings and these will be world premieres!

Fans of “Fire Force” will want to check out the Simuldub premiere of the first two episodes of Season Two. The program also includes a Q&A of some of the English cast hosted by Matt Acevedo.

Attendees will also be able to watch the first episodes of two new series, “DECA-DENCE” and “By the Grace of the Gods” before the Japanese broadcast. The “DECA-DENCE” screening will also include commentary from its director Yuzuru Tachikawa from hit series “Death Parade” and “Mob Psycho 100” and Takuya Tsunoki, producer from Studio NUT.

Cosplay became an essential part of the convention experience and Funimation didn’t forget about it in this virtual event.

Iconic cosplayer Yaya Han will be discussing the history of cosplaying and her book in “Fireside Chat with Yaya Han” along with Michelle Bradley. It will be a sneak peek at “Yaya Han’s World of Cosplay” before its August release.

“LIVE Cosplay Showdown: Pro Vs Pro!” is like those iron cosplay challenges. Competitors will be Riddle (Riki Lecotey), Phil Mizuno, DressesandCapes Cosplay and Alicia Marie. The four will have less than an hour to take what they have at their homes to create a certain prop or cosplay. The winner will have $5,000 donated to their selected charity.

Riddle will also be hosting another event “Learn to make masks from home with Riddle!”. She’ll teach attendees how to make their own essential face mask.

For those that have been thinking about getting into cosplay, “Beginner’s Cosplay Crafting with Stella Chuu” will be the panel to attend. She’ll be teaching some easy crafting while taking about her experience as a cosplayer.
