Featured Fanart – Sakura Charlotte Arielle March 19, 2018 Art, Articles, Featured Fanart The Cherry Blossom season is arguably the most beautiful time in Japan. Throughout Spring, festivals are held all over the country and special edition foods and packaging are adorned with cherry blossom themes. Citizens and tourists gather to partake in hanami picnics; “hanami” literally meaning “to look at flowers”. The flowers are symbolic within the culture, representing new beginnings and natural beauty. They are the floral embodiment of Japan’s most deep-rooted cultural and philosophical beliefs. As such, there are many anime and video game characters with the traditional name, ‘Sakura’. Come celebrate with us by viewing these some of our favorite beautiful Sakuras.
