NHK has released the results for “Best Anime 100” online poll and the results are leaving America fans shocked. Please remember that this list was compiled in Japan and Japanese fans voted online.  Japanese fans and those from other countries sometimes have different tastes. An anime series may be huge in Japan and not so much in other countries. Case in point, Cowboy Bebop, arguably the best anime ever made, is #34; this doesn’t mean it isn’t a good series. It just wasn’t that popular in Japan.

As a HUGE fan of Tiger & Bunny, I am ecstatic that it took # 1, #2 and #6. A lot of American fans are raging that this “underground series” and Love Live! took the top spots. But, as I said in the beginning, shows can be popular in one place and not so known in others. Tiger & Bunny is still huge in Japan. It’s a series that, in my opinion, was ahead of it’s time and has aged incredibly well. Here’s hoping for a season 2!
