Day 3 – Favorite Anime Opening: “Flyers” from Death Parade

First things first. This opening lies, people. The depressing, scary and melancholic anime is just disguised as a happy-go-lucky, everyone-gets-along dance number. It had everyone, myself included, fooled. I did a whole podcast featuring Death Parade and it even made our #1 favorite opening for 2015.

That being said, I am constantly listening to this opening ALL. THE. TIME. In the car, when I workout, hell I am listening to it right now as I type this. My roommates and friends are sick of it. But I don’t think I ever will be. The song is called “Flyers” by the band BRADIO and the opening, like the anime, is animated by the legendary Madhouse. The characters dance and sing and wonder through various rooms at what looks like a bar or club; it’s absolutely beautiful.
