Animanga returned to the Pomona Fairplex for its second year and many checked out its planned festivities for Day One.

Attendees enjoyed the wide range of video games that they were able to play for free.

Game Saru provided many of the modern arcade games including several machines that were only available in Japan.

Lost Level brought back nostalgia for older players while younger ones tried their hand at retro games. The retailer has shops in Fullerton and in Claremont.

Itasha Alliance showed off local itashas (heavily decorated cars of characters).


Special guests TiA and Kohei Hattori took the stage for a joint performance and got the audience to join them and have a dance party.


The metal band Vetivs from Las Vegas performed several of their favorite video game songs.

Of course, no anime convention would be complete with out cosplayers and people didn’t shy away from bringing theirs out on Friday.
