Crunchyroll’s First Worldwide Release Coming to Theaters in North America, U.K and Ireland on August 19, Others in August and September

According to their June 14th press release, Crunchyroll will be working with Toei Animation to bring “Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO”, the newest film from Akira Toriyama’s hit series. It mentioned that “SUPER HERO” will be Crunchyroll’s “first truly globally-distributed theatrical release”. Fans will be able to see the movie in August 2022 with both the English dubbed and English subbed versions available for their choosing. Tickets will be on sale staring in July 22nd and certain IMAX theaters will be showing the film.

“Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO” brings back the Red Ribbon Army with their secret weapons, androids Gamma 1 (Hiroshi Kamiya) and Gamma 2 (Mamoru Miyano). It is unknown what these so-called “Super Heroes” truly want to do but they cause trouble by picking a fight with Piccolo (Toshi Furukawa) and Gohan (Masako Nozawa). The Saiyans must find out why the Red Ribbon Army resurfaced after so long and stop their menancing activities.

Manga creator Akira Toriyama took part in making the movie according the press release “with full commitment and deep involvement”.
