This Sunday from 1-5 in New York City, Sebastian Masuda (creator of 6% Doki Doki) will be launching his art project “Time After Time Capsule” at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza. This is part of an ongoing, world-wide, multi-city project, with like capsules displayed. Each capsule is a unique character, this time Hello Kitty, made in a giant clear mold. In each location the Masuda plans a series of children and family workshops collaborating with the project’s community. The artist encourages people to bring personal happy, colourful, and memorable objects to create colourful objects to be put inside the capsule. As more and more personal objects are added to the clear capsule, the community will colour the artwork. All the capsules from around the world will be reunited in 2020 in Tokyo to mark the Tokyo Olympics, bringing together the contained memories. If you live in the New York City area, this will be on display until September 13, 2015.
